The Maha Mandi - Swadeshi Mandi

SWADESHI MANDI

   VOCAL      FOR         LOCAL

Swadeshi, as a strategy, was a key focus of Mahatma Gandhi, who described it as the soul of Swaraj (self rule). It was strongest in Bengal and was also called the Vandemataram movement in India.

A very significant instrument of social change, in Gandhi’s view, was the precept and practice of swadeshi, which implied self-reliance and self-sufficiency at the level of the individual, the village and the nation.

By following the swadeshi principle, the nation’s confidence and prosperity could be assured. It would be appropriate to quote him on the rule of swadeshi: “Swadeshi is that spirit in us which restricts us to the use and service of our immediate surroundings to the exclusion of the more remote.

Mahamandi hosts several activities to proliferate the socio-economic aspects of business by propagating handcraft toys and stationery made by underprivileged children. It gives the students a practical perspective of learning by selling in open markets. It also provides them an opportunity to apply the theory of consumer behavior and bring in all the management gyan to empower the lives of destitute children. “Socho Becho Seekho” is its MANTRA.

Maha Mandi 2020 is rejigged due to Corona. This Mandi, is geared up to promote LOCAL things for GLOBAL use being VOCAL.

Swadeshi Mandi - The Golden Fiber | 15th Aug | #NitiePrasad | MIG | #VocalForLocal

Swadeshi Mandi - VocalForLocal
- 1/12 MandiSir Revolution

On this Independence Day, let us celebrate the Swadeshi concept.
Times are changing, India wants to be self reliant again - Aatma Nirbhar Hona Humara Kartavya Hai! The campaign once actively popularized by Mahatma Gandhi Ji has to be adopted again.

Every Indian has to understand the importance of being independent both in terms of freedom and in terms of economy. The youth has to have faith in the concept of +1/12 - Earn back at least 1lakh when you are investing around 12 lakhs in your college fees.

Business education is not just about getting grades, it is also about applying the knowledge and earning money. The mascot of Mandi Sir #NitiePrasad represents the concept of education where the main objective is to develop the entrepreneurship skill in a student.

We bring the Swadeshi Mandi concept where we promote the indigenous trades of India. I hail from Kolkata the city of Joy and therefore I promote the indigenous jute industry here. It is a perfect replacement for toxic plastic. From clothes to accessories to masks (see image below) - jute can be used to make anything and everything in an eco-friendly and biodegradable manner because businesses have to adopt a mechanism to support the sustainability of our own planet Earth. With the help of the Maha Mandi event which is going virtual this year- we are getting into the game by trying digital marketing and learning it - hands on!

The real life inspiration behind the Mandi concept is Prof T Prasad. He has actively instilled the spirit of entrepreneurship among students so that they become great managers in the future.

So let us join hands to support local businesses - by being FocalForLocal and VocalForLocal -
Socho Seekho Becho Bech Bech Ke Seekho !
